• Early Years Unit Being Introduced After Easter

  As a school we are continuously trying to improve so that your child receives the best education possible. With this in mind, we have decided to merge our Nursery and Reception Classes into an Early Years Unit. This will provide the children with a wider range of exciting opportunities and areas in which to learn. For our Nursery children, we are hoping it will prepare them for full time education as they will be familiar with the staff and layout and format of the day for Reception. Staff are working very hard on setting up the areas ready for the children. We will post pictures as soon as it is up and running!

• Welcome to the Walking Bus!

  We are introducing a new idea for schools in Wrexham to help support parents with their child's attendance. For those children who are achieving under 85% attendance we are introducing a walking bus. This involves members of staff from school collecting a small group of targeted children between 8am and 9am and walking them to school along a specific route. Should you be struggling with your child's attendance and feel that you need support please come into school to have a chat with us and we will see what we can do to help you.

• Appointment of New Headteacher

  The new Headteacher for Alexandra has been appointed. Congratulations to Mrs Lisa Roberts from Ysgol Acrefair who will start the job in September 2015. The staff and children at Alexandra will look forward to working with her.
