Dosbarth Catkin (Nursery)

Croeso i Dosbarth Catkin.

In Dosbarth Catkin, Mrs Mapletoft is the Class Teacher and Miss Wright is the Teaching Assistant. Mrs Williams leads Dosbarth Catkin for one and a half days a week, every Wednesday and the afternoon session on a Tuesday. Miss Williams works in Nursery running Acorns, our wrap around Nursery provision with the support of Mrs Szatkowska.

In Dosbarth Catkin, we aim to ensure all children have a successful start to their school career. We make sure children are supported in becoming independent, active learners through building happy relationships with staff and exploring our fantastic indoor and outdoor environments.

This term, we are exploring 'How things work' with a focus on 'Transport' which will see the children learning about different types of transport and how they move. We will be exploring the idea of forces; looking at pushes and pulls, sinking or floating as well as twists and turns. We will be learning lots of new songs and Nursery Rhymes and having fun in 'Alexandra Airport' as this terms role play.

By clicking on the file below, you will see the learning skills to be covered this term.

Everyday the children have the choice of milk or water to drink. We have water bottle in school so the children do not need to bring one with them. Please can the children bring a healthy snack into Nursery with them each day. This may be: fresh fruit, fresh vegetable, vegetable sticks with hummus, bread sticks, squeezy yoghurts, sugar free jelly, dried fruits such a raisins, cheese or crackers.

Please could parents ensure all children's belongings are labelled so we can help your child to be responsible for their own things.

In Dosbarth Catkin, we are out in all weathers come rain or shine so please make sure we have either a suitable coat or a sun hat so we can make the most of our outdoor learning space each day!
