Ysgol Alexandra

Dosbarth Chestnut

This half term, we will be exploring the topic “How Things Work” with a particular focus on cause-and-effect toys and forms of transportation. Through a range of engaging, sensory-based activities, the children will have opportunities to investigate movement, action, and reaction, helping them to develop early thinking skills and a basic understanding of mechanics and function. They will learn how pressing buttons, pulling levers, or turning knobs can create lights, sounds, or movement, using Attention Autism, structured play, and sensory exploration to spark curiosity. We will also examine various forms of transportation, such as cars, trains, aeroplanes, and boats, through sensory trays, role-play, and small-world activities. Children will practice pushing and rolling vehicles to explore movement across different surfaces, enhancing their fine and gross motor skills.

Everyone is amazing in their own way, and we can’t wait to celebrate all the things that make you YOU!

We will be sharing all the fantastic work that our students create on Seesaw.

As your child's development is our top priority, we are always here to assist you in any way we can.

We are excited to have a great term and look forward to learning with you all.

Thank you,

Ms Chamera
