Croeso i Dosbarth Juniper ac Elm
Who is in our class?

Welcome to Dosbarth Juniper and Elm’s Class Page!
Our class teachers are Miss Wikluk and Mrs Bone, supported by our wonderful team: Level 4 Teaching Assistant Miss Davies, Teaching Assistants Miss Hughes, Mrs Valentine, Mrs Williams, Miss Gosling, Mrs Hughes, and Mrs Pehlivanska. On Wednesdays, we are also joined by Mrs Hooson.
In our classes, the children are provided with a safe and fun learning environment where the Curriculum is tailored to suit the children’s needs and abilities. A child-centred approach is adopted when planning for, and teaching individual children within our classes. Focused activities are carefully balanced with the opportunity to explore different areas of the classroom where they can work on their communication and social skills or consolidate their learning. This helps to ensure that each child is in an environment where they can reach their potential.
We support children’s learning and communication with a variety of specialist strategies, including symbols, Makaton sign language, visual aids, and communication boards. Wherever possible, we use a multi-sensory approach to make learning engaging and accessible. Our learning doesn’t stop with classroom subjects! We also focus on independence, life skills, cooking, emotional wellbeing, social development, outdoor learning/forest school, creative therapies, and individual interventions to support every child’s needs.
On this page, you’ll find information about our current topics and this half-term’s homework tasks, so you can keep up to date with what we’re learning in class.
Our Week in Class
P.E.
Our P.E. day is Wednesday. Children will need both indoor and outdoor kits in school. Each child has their own locker, so kits can be kept in school.
Show and Tell
Every Wednesday, children are welcome to bring in something special from home for Show and Tell. This gives them a fantastic opportunity to practise their speaking and listening skills while sharing something important to them.
